Adam S. Brooks is a new media communications strategist and instructional technologist from Charlotte, North Carolina. Adam is the Communications Director for Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), which serves the academic and training needs of more than 70,000 students and corporate clients each year. Through his role as Communications Director, Adam supports the college’s internal and external communications needs, online presence, social media communities, critical alert systems, cable (CPCC-TV) and broadcast (WTVI) television operations. He also serves as an adjunct Information Technology (I.T.) instructor and a trainer for the college’s Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) area. He has co-founded a number of community events highlighting technology and innovation including CPCC’s annual “THE Geek Fest,” “BarCamp Charlotte,” and “EdCamp Charlotte.” Adam specializes in organizational communication, electronic media development, instructional design and performance improvement. As a passionate technologist and entrepreneur who is excited to share his enthusiasm and vision for applying emerging technology innovations, Adam is a frequent guest speaker at regional and national conferences. He has a BLS in Business from Wingate University and an MS in Technology Systems and Performance Improvement (PI) from the College of Technology and Computer Science at East Carolina University (ECU).
